I'm Madi, a multi-disciplinary designer by nature. I love to work across a variety of contexts, whether on technical tools, or highly visual experiences. I'm a proponent for design thinking as an instrument for elevating everyday narratives and experiences. ❇
📖 CURRENT READS: A Field Guide to Getting Lost by Rebecca Solnit
I'm a firm believer that the fear of being wrong is what hinders people from iterating their way to something truly valuable. You often don't figure out what you really need until you dive in and get your hands dirty. My dense background in the sciences, above all, neuroscience, has given me a unique perspective within user experience and product teams. The knowledge gained in regards to human behavior, perception, and emotion can be directly applied to design and creating great user experiences.
When I'm not working, I'm probably:
experimenting with knit design 🧶
bouldering 🪨 or looking for a wave to surf 🌊
brushing up on my Japanese 🇯🇵
sometimes both at once? I once was lucky enough to surf in Japan with Mt. Fuji in the background 🗻
I also love exploring the myriad of worlds within video games, anime, art history, and classic & contemporary literature. Creative endeavors outside of product design include painting, illustration, designing and knitting clothes, playing bass, and teaching my border collie, Penny, some new tricks.
I'm always open to interesting projects in tech, gaming, publishing, fashion, and visual design.
